Hasan Balcı
I recently completed my postdoctoral research at the National Library of Medicine (NLM), NIH, where I worked with Dr. Augustin Luna.
My research brings together computational biology, graph visualization, and graph algorithms to develop interactive and intelligent methods for biological knowledge representation. I focus on the construction, visualization, and refinement of biological pathway maps and molecular interaction networks, using AI-assisted and human-in-the-loop approaches that combine algorithmic automation with domain expert knowledge.
I was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the Maastricht Centre for Systems Biology (MaCSBio) in the Netherlands, where I worked under the supervision of Dr. Martina Summer-Kutmon. I earned my PhD in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University in Türkiye under the supervision of Dr. Ugur Dogrusoz.
Here is my CV.
