Hasan Balcı
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) in the USA, supervised by Dr. Augustin Luna.
My research interests lie at the intersection of graph visualization, network science, bioinformatics, and scientific software systems. I develop methods for visualizing, analyzing, and interacting with complex graphs, and apply these methods to biological pathways and molecular interaction networks represented using standards such as SBGN. More recently, my work has focused on AI-assisted and human-in-the-loop approaches for analyzing graph-structured data, including the generation, integration, and interpretation of pathway maps through interactive and intelligent methods.
I was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the Maastricht Centre for Systems Biology (MaCSBio) in the Netherlands, where I worked under the supervision of Dr. Martina Summer-Kutmon. I earned my PhD in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University in Türkiye under the supervision of Dr. Ugur Dogrusoz.
Here is my CV.
